Divas by Design - 'Monochrome'

Hello... I hope you are all well this morning! it's time for a new challenge with Team A over at

and this week we have one of my favourite themes ....

'Monochrome'

I think the easiest way to define monochrome is.... different shades of one colour... and it is definitely one of my favourite themes! :-))  I decided to make a girly card with a pocket inside for Gift Card.

We are sponsored by the fabulous Dilly Beans

We were kindly given some images to use and I have chosen Girl and Butterfly....

Lilac Mirri Card: embossed with eBosser folder
Border: Tonic Studios Vine Punch
Star Dust Stickles on Butterfly
Sparklet, Pearls and feather from Stash
(Image coloured with Promarkers and Copics)

I saw a corner pocket design on my team buddy Janice's Website a while back. So I thought I'd have a go at making one although I don't think mine looks as good!! ... I could have maybe glammed the inside up a bit more but was in a rush when making it!! I've not added any sentiments so I can use this for any occasion where I want to give a gift card.. for a girl anyway... don't think a bloke would appreciate this !!! LOL

I hope you can pop on over to the main Divas by Design website and check out my Teamies gorgeous creations this week! :-))

I'm sorry that my commenting is still very hit and miss. We are still waiting for a place at the nursing home for my dad. He is stable ... not really improving... but I think he is as comfortable as they can make him. I can't believe how time flies by when you are hospital visiting and trying to remember all the everyday jobs that you need to fit in also.
My daughter and I did make time to watch Downton on Sunday and really enjoyed it... we opened a box of choccies and so that was a nice evening! Looking forward to the next episode and also Strictly on Friday/Saturday!
I will catch up with you all very soon

Marie Antionette

Hello... I hope you are all well.... it's been a very rainy week here in Manchester... but hopefully it should brighten up a bit tomorrow? fingers crossed.

I thought I'd show you a card that I made a while ago for my lovely friend Ira. I know she loves Marie Antionette and so I found a picture on the internet and used it as main focus of the card... it was lots of fun to make. I used some lovely glittery Tilda Country Escape Toppers.

I traced some text for the sentiment and then wrote over with 0.05 ink pen as I wanted to give it a handwritten effect.  The doily lace edging was done with a Martha Stewart Punch. Papers are Glitz Design - Vintage Blue.

I hope you like it...

Can't believe how the time is flying by today... I better get a move on and finish my jobs... need to do Tesco order for tomorrow or else we won't have any food for weekend !! I'm glad Downton is back on Sunday... hope this series is a bit more cheerful though!!

Take Care and I will catch up with you all soon...

Divas by Design - 'Weddings & Anniversaries'

Hello... I hope you are all well today... it's Team A's turn for a new challenge over at

and the fab theme this week is

'Weddings & Anniversaries'

I thought I would use a LOTV Topper from the Coloured Art Pad - True Love. These images are perfect for Weddings and Anniversaries. I've gone with a white and silver colour combo to give it a classy and elegant feel... I'm quite pleased with how this card came out considering I didn't really feel in the mood for crafting when I made it.

Image: LOTV - Coloured Art Pad - True Love
Sentiment: LOTV - Sketch Pad 8 - Sentiments
Embossing Folder: Sizzix - Flower Rings & Clusters Set
Flower: Prima
Die: Memory Box - Precious Hearts
Punch: Tonic Studios Simplicity Geared - Vine
from Stash: Silver Mirri Card, pink pearl

I bought this Silver Mirri card to try and loved it so much that I bought loads more of it in different colours... so you will be seeing a lot more of it in next few weeks... I bet you will be sick of the sight of it by Christmas!! LOL

We are sponsored this week by the fabulous Lili of the Valley

I hope you can pop on over to our main blog at Divas by Design and see my Teamies romantic creations this week... they are all beautiful ... :-))

I'm loving the eBosser so far by the way. It embosses beautifully. The stacks/sandwiches are a bit heavier than I thought they would be... but I can kind of lean the stack against my desk and it's not too bad. The real problem with the Big Shot was the winding it back and forth... some dies needed it quite a few times to cut properly and boy it really pulled on the discs in my spine!! So at least with the eBosser you can just feed it in a couple of times... no cranking!!  I tried one of my most difficult dies which is a Vivienne Butterfly one by Memory Box... and it came out ok apart from one tiny area... so I think I will probably feed it through twice next time. But love it so far!

I hope you are all having a good week

Moving Along With The Times... DT Call

Hello everyone.... I hope you all had a lovely weekend...

I'm here with a quick reminder that....

MAWTT is back on 3rd October!!!! Yay!!!

and we are having a DT Call !!
so if you would like to find out more about joining our very friendly team then click HERE

I'm really looking forward to working with the lovely girls again! :-)

Thank you for all your kind comments and best wishes for my dad... he has got over his pneumonia now and is stable and more comfortable... he is still in hospital and has a lot of things wrong still...and the doctors have said he needs to go into nursing/care long term. So we're hoping to get him settled somewhere in the next few weeks... it feels really weird that he won't be coming home though... I'm sure we will adjust but it just takes a bit of time to get your head around it all...

As soon as things settle down a bit, I want to try and get back into my crafting proper again... I just hope that I can get motivated again!!

I have treated myself to...

I've wanted one for a while and hopefully it will make my crafting much easier... the Big Shot was getting harder and harder for me to use and was hurting my spine!!!  so I'm looking forward to being able to use more dies again now!

Did you see Strictly? I watched it but had to mute the sound for first half hour as my nerves were not up to the noise! LOL I must be getting old !! but at least the lineup and pairings look quite good this year... looking forward to seeing how they all shape up once they start dancing properly... I will be back in a few days with a card for Divas! ;-)
Take Care and I will catch up with you all soon
